CryoLake™ is the only data lake that is cold in both the architectural and the thermal sense. Your data rests in racks north of 60, cooled by the outdoors, governed by the territory, and retrieved when conditions allow.
What it does
Thermal sovereignty
Data stays in Canada because it is, physically, frozen into Canada.
Contemplative retrieval
Queries are answered in the order they were understood, with a latency profile that encourages reflection.
Seasonal tiering
Hot, warm and cold tiers are set by the weather. In July some data becomes warm. We cannot stop this.
How it works

Data is shipped north by the fastest available means, which varies.

Settle
Objects are written to disk and allowed to reach ambient temperature.

Requests are queued and fulfilled with a latency SLA expressed in seasons.

Compliance and sovereignty
CryoLake™ keeps data at rest in Canada. Data in transit travels through Canada. Data during processing is processed by Canadians, or by agents operated by Canadians, or by agents that have been to Canada.

How fast is retrieval?
Fast enough for strategy, too slow for operations, which is where strategy lives.
Is it encrypted?
At rest, yes. In transit, yes. During processing, it is cold, which is similar.
What about a disaster?
Our disaster recovery region is a second, colder rack.
Can I visit?
Site visits are available between May and September and require a 14-week Discovery Discovery engagement.
